Responsibilities

TheElectronicTechniciansprimary function is to support all assigned maintenance activities. This position requires continued “on the tools” responsibilities on an as needed basis. On a regular, scheduled basis theElectronic Techniciansmeetswith the planner,Maintenance Manager, andLeadElectronicsTechnicianto review open work orders, current equipment issues and help identifypriorities. TheElectronic Technicianthen works with otherElectronicTechniciansbased on those priorities,assistsin obtaining needed parts.TheElectronic Technicianis the primary contact forbreakdownissues and corrective actions requested by operations. Other tasks as assigned by management.

Safety:

  • Performs all tasks in a safe manner, wearing required PPE and following all safety regulations.

  • BBS participation.

  • Know and understand all Safety rules and guidelines to ensure work is performed safely.

  • Have a clear understanding of andstrictly complywith LOTO policy.

  • Be intimately familiar with NFPA 70E and safe electrical work practices. This includesestablishingan electricallysafe workcondition, safe troubleshooting practices, and approach boundaries.

Responsibilities:

  1. TheElectronicTechnicianwill address any outages seen and will ensure, with theMaintenance Manager, that outages are worked until compliance.

  2. Work with Operations to address equipmentissuesan as needed basis. Support theresponse todaily jobs with operations,plannersand engineers.

  3. Executedaily activities as needed for each shift

  4. Work withoutside resources and contractors to support daily workload.

  5. Contactadditionalresources when needed.

    COMMUNICATION:

  6. TheElectronicTechnicianwill serve as a conduit for 2-way communication for feedback between operators and maintenance resources in order to work in a collaborative manner.

  7. TheElectronicTechnicianwill coordinate with operations ensuring any down time isutilizedeffectively. They will also communicate with Planners any exceptions to the operations schedule so thatappropriate adjustmentscan be made to the maintenance schedule.

  8. TheElectronicTechnicianis responsible forcommunication and directionwith the LeadElectronicTechnicianin the morning meetings.This includesparticipating inthe meeting with safety topics and discussion and directing emergency work that is outside of the plan.

OTHER:

  1. TheElectronicTechnicianwill attendschedulemeetings, safety meetings, asset meetings, safety reviews for their work area.

  2. TheElectronicTechnicianwill be responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork including but not limited to work orders, KPI’s, incident reports and thedistributiontechnical data.

  3. TheElectronicTechnicianwill coordinate andassistothertechnicians with trouble-shooting activities. TheMaintenance Technicianwill refer to theMaintenance Managerfor root-cause solutions to recurring problems. They will follow the resource allocation procedure when problemsare occurring.

  4. TheElectronicTechnicianwillbe responsible forfulfilling the tasks as outlined in the daily task lists.

Physical demands:

  1. Ability to stand and walk 12 hours or more a day on concrete, solidmetalor corrugated metal surfaces to perform production duties.

  2. Employeemust be able to work rotating12 hourshifts.

  3. Ability to sit while driving and operating material handling equipment 1- 3 hours per shift.

  4. Ability to sit while entering data into computers, reviewing data, completing reports, etc.

  5. Ability to push a wheeled cart filled with scrap, weighing up to 400 lbs., through manufacturing area

  6. Employeemust be able to climb, bend,stoopand crawl.

  7. Employeemust be able tolift upto 75 pounds repeatedly.

  8. Required tofrequentlyascend and descend up to three flights of stairs over extremelyfast movingmachinery.

  9. Required to safely accessfast movingmachinery which includes rolls with inward nip points.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Area may or may not be air conditioned orheated, andmay be humid and hot or cold depending on seasonal conditions.

  2. Exposure to hot and/or abrasive surfaces.

  3. Required to be in tight spaces on occasion and to heights daily.

  4. Possible exposureto noise levels over 90 decibels for 12 hours at certain locations.

  5. Moving machinery or moving objects on production floor.

  6. Floor surfaces slippery at times.

  7. Exposure to chemicals which may cause eye or skin irritation and/or burns, and irritation to respiratory system.

  8. Exposure to static electricity on occasion.

  9. Exposure to and use of sharp implements at times.

  10. Exposure to outside elements on occasion.

Qualifications

High School/equivalent, required. Associate's Degree inMaintenancerelated fieldor equivalentwork experience, preferred.

Six Sigma Certification (Black or Green) and TPM- Preferred,butnotrequired.

5+ years ofelectricalmaintenanceexperience.
