Responsibilities
We are currently building a team to be able to work on Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm Evening/2nd Shift. Expected training time on our current schedule below is expected to be 6 months before an adjustment to the schedule can be made.
We are currently running on the below scheduled Evening Shift Monday - Thursday including mandatory OT.
Day Shift: 2:30pm-3:00am
Purpose The Group Leader’s primary purpose is to assure that the overall coating line runs to optimum conditions. The Group leader operates the coating head of the coating line while ensuring the equipment is maintained and run at optimal production requirements with limited downtime. The group leader must have extensive working knowledge of all coating line positions. This position requires three to five years of experience and training to acquire an overall understanding and basic performance requirements to run the equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws
Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.).
Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed. Primary Job Functions
Comply with all job related ISO quality procedures and customer specifications
Prior to loading the machine, review the Work Order (e.g. specification sheet, material requirements, process notes as applicable) and visually confirm that the proper raw materials have been prepared and staged
Visually inspect and confirm that prepared adhesive has been pre-labeled and tagged
With assistance and throughout the shift, manually and/or with material handling equipment, lift to load, unload, and store roll shafts
Operate the controls to periodically jog the machine to load, splice, flag, and unload machine as necessary
Cut and splice material throughout the run as necessary
Monitor coat weight throughout the run
Visually inspect and flag the product for defects and splices throughout every run.
Troubleshoot web problems as necessary
Operate material handling equipment (such as fork trucks, drum trucks, pallet jacks, hoists) to move, store, stage, and/or load raw materials and product
Report material issues/defects and/or equipment issues to respective Wind Up Operator, Group Leader (another shift) and/or Supervisor
Back up and/or assist Coater Operator and/or Coater Wind-Up Operator, as necessary, (e.g., breaks, absences, daily production process, etc.)
Assign duties to coating team members as needed
Perform other duties as required and directed Coating Lead - Provide day-to-day support to your shift team members, as needed
Plan, organize, & direct your shift team members to meet required deadlines, as needed In conjunction with your Supervisor, establish and/or enforce operating policies and procedures
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Skills
Must communicate fluently in English (speaking, reading, writing)
Basic computer skills
Basic math skills
Basic knowledge of scan guns and/or inventory control system
If required to operate a forklift, must have previous experience and/or current certification
High SchoolDiploma or GED preferred
Previous Machine Operation experience required
Previous Lead Machine Operator experience required
