Director – Continuous Improvement -Manufacturing Engineer-Evansville, IN

Remote work within the U.S. will also be considered

Create a sustainable culture of continuous improvement throughout the division. Uses knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to completion. Interacts with multiple functions across the division.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Lean principles, sustainability vision and strategy, and Six Sigma methodology to facilitate execution of productivity, quality, growth, safety and cash flow projects.

  • Key focus on business processes, transactional operations, change management leadership, and lean manufacturing techniques. Specific areas of interest can include but not be limited to operations, customer service, supply chain, finance, marketing, sourcing, strategic planning, sales, etc.

  • Develop and manage portfolio of activities aimed at achieving EMD’s short and long-term sustainability goals.

  • Develop and implement strategy roadmaps for future generations of more sustainable products that enable growth without compromising performance or safety.

  • Assess new and existing supplier capabilities to meet quality, regulatory, volume and cost requirements as it relates to components aimed at advancing sustainability goals.

  • Facilitate internal collaboration amongst cross-functional stakeholders to promote awareness of EMD’s sustainability initiatives, product offerings, competitive intelligence, and best practices.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with managers, individual contributors and other key stakeholders to provide advice and counsel on employee-related and organizational matters.

  • Maintain open communication with key personnel involved in Continuous Improvement. Report/track the progress, milestones, savings, and other key aspects of projects that are being led or mentored.

  • Lead and train for green and black belt certification

  • Travel required approximately 25%-50% to perform duties at designated locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field & 5 years of experience as a Program Manager, Manufacturing Engineer or related occupation required.

  • In the alternative, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field & 3 years of experience as a Program Manager, Manufacturing Engineer or related occupation will be considered.

  • Black Belt certification required

  • Must have experience with ISO/QS9000 standards

  • Managing multiple projects/programs using Lean Six Sigma methodology in business or transactional processes.

  • Leading in a matrix environment.

  • Gathering, analyzing and interpreting data for manufacturing processes.
