Berry Global, a global leader in the plastics packaging industry, is excited to announce a new opportunity in the tax department. The Corporate Tax team is responsible with complying with tax filing requirements, financial statement disclosures related to tax and tax planning projects for the global business. As an integral part of the team, the Tax Analyst will report to the Director of Corporate Tax and work closely with the members of the tax and accounting departments. This position is responsible for assisting with the domestic tax compliance function and the overall tax planning process for the company. The position is heavily involved in the preparation of federal, state and local income taxes.
Assist with preparation of federal and state income/franchise tax returns.
Assist with processing of quarterly estimated income tax payments.
Assist with State Income Tax audits.
Assist with the income tax provision reported on the financial statements.
Research of tax statutes, regulations and case law to assist in developing tax positions for the company.
Monitors tax law changes, assesses impact on operations and makes recommendations to management.
Assist with Federal and State Income Tax Planning Projects.
An undergraduate degree in accounting is required.
Minimum of 1-3 years of federal and/or state income tax experience is preferred.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have the desire to learn the application of federal and state tax laws and regulations
Must be computer literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
