The Vice President, Sales is responsible for all commercial aspects for the Engineered Materials Division Tapes, Retail Bags and Sheeting market segments, with a 2019 net sales target of roughly $430MM. The incumbent will interact with sales, product management, finance, human resources and product development to ensure that we bring world class products to our customers. He/she will lead, develop and support strategic growth activities for the business, while ensuring that sales and profit targets are met. Key to the success of the individual in this role is their proven ability to build and sustain synergistic relationships with all functional roles in the organization, proven track record on delivering innovative and commercially-viable products to our customers and a proven track record of commercial success.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead business teams in the development and execution of commercial initiatives in support of business goals and objectives. Partner with all functional groups to anticipate and lead through organizational change, identify capability gaps and align resources to business objectives.
Develops annual and strategic plans to meet revenue, margin, profitability and market penetration goals. Develops and manages sales forecasts and revenue plans.
Hires, develops and retains sales personnel. Provides ongoing coaching and feedback to manage and support sales staff through field visits, observation and measurement of results. Provides coaching and performance evaluations for sales staff and ensures these practices are implemented effectively throughout the sales organization. Effectively allocates resources to meet established short term and long term goals.
Implement sales training initiatives and ensures that field sales personnel receive appropriate training.
Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of client base, current needs and anticipated needs of client base. Maintains a high degree of customer contact/interaction in an attempt to strengthen customer relationships, build customer understanding of corporate vision and goals and supporting sales staff in strengthening relationships.
Responsible for sales growth and required to sell and maintain sales goals along with direct sales staff.
Participates in the development of sales compensation plans and review programs with sales personnel to ensure effective communication of company information.
Effectively monitors and controls sales expenses in support of organization financial goals.
Ability to define need for additional forward-deployed manufacturing capability in emerging markets.
Candidate Qualifications :
15+ years of progressively responsible sales experience in a multitude of settings; preference given to candidates with a background in manufacturing.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Ability to travel extensively (50%+).
Successful experience building sales organizations.
Experience in annual and strategic planning.
Successful experience in pricing, contracting, project management and working key accounts.
Strong understanding and development of key account management.
Ability to manage large scale sales projects.
A strong track record of managing a large scale business
