Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Technical Group Leader to lead our Night Shift Production Team. In this position you will ensure that all Dry OffSet Printing machines are running to optimum speeds (MEEF, EFF and Scrap %) and producing quality parts. This GL will assist all Technicians and assign team members in production, in their daily duties and ensure all employees are doing their jobs safely, correctly, following GMP's as well as taking pride in their work.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom you are responsible for through active engagement in safety activities and providing clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.

  • Lead Daily pre-shift safety education/communication meetings with your shift. Includes Ergonomic stretch program.

  • Ensure communication of Print Technicians to oncoming Technicians. (Shift hand off)

  • Work with Quality Control to maximize quality and minimize downtime.

  • Effectively meet Departmental goals of EFF, MEEF, & Scrap

  • Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs

  • Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws

  • Actively lead risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.

  • Perform incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly

  • Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.

  • Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.

  • Data entry/ shift report. Using various software systems daily.

  • Other duites as needed

  • Full-time 8 Hour Night Shift: 11:00PM to 7:30 AM Mon-Fri Overtime often during peak seasons

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

HS graduate or equivalent

Three to five years previous supervisory experience managing 10+ staff

Printing and/or Dry-off set Printing experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. English/Spanish Bilingual skills preferred.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; each with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

This department works with inks and solvents which create subtle odors. Room temperature while air-conditioned, does vary greatly. Various continual machine noise requires hearing protection to be worn at all times in production as well as hair/beard nets, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, safety shoes, head protection, etc.
