Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The Quality Team Leader is responsible for providing supervision and direction to all shift quality employees; to operate the department within all safety regulations and quality standards; to exhibit the highest standard of professionalism and a positive attitude while handling multiple tasks and priorities.

Essential Jobs and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee Quality Specialists for compliances, supplies & assistance.

  • Train new employees.

  • Assist Quality Specialists in daily tasks as needed.

  • Promote a Safe & Productive team work environment.

  • Assist in managing the resources of the shift to ensure all goals are achieved.

  • Assist in preparation & set up of the department and must be flexible to assist in any area as assigned by management.

  • Assess labor vs machines running and adjust manning as needed. Communicate these items to Leadership.

  • Perform routine housekeeping, cleaning and maintenance as assigned/required. Also assign responsibilities to Quality Specialists to help maintain these items.

  • Lineup OT coverage as needed to maintain shift performance.

  • Lead in resolving heldware issues, including audits on shift to help enable a quicker batch release.

  • Maintain equipment readiness so that all reasonable requests pertaining to the conduct of testing are met in a timely and effective manner.

  • Perform scheduled and emergency instrument and system calibrations in a timely manner.

  • Assist in the interpretation of calibration records requested during on-site audits. Participate in audits as needed by Quality Management.

  • Must follow and comply with all ISO 9001, ISO 15378 established requirements

  • Must follow and comply with Safety & Quality Absolutes

  • Other duties as assigned

Frontline Leader Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.​

  • Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.​

  • Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws​

  • Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.​

  • Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)​

  • Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner. ​

  • Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible. ​

  • Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.​

  • Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.

Contribution to Safety, Quality and GMP

  • Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safety standards.

  • Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.

  • Support the accomplishment of your work groups through the quality, timeliness and professionalism of your attitude.

  • Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.

  • Apply resources in a manner that maximizes their effectiveness while assuring quality.

  • Maintain a work environment that will contribute to the assurance of safety and GMP compliance.

  • Adhere to established procedures, perform self-checking and pay attention to detail in the performance of you and your team’s work.

  • Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.

  • Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.

  • Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of your work.

  • Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.

  • Previous Quality Experience.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, written and leadership skills.

  • Present a positive and professional attitude at all times.

  • Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Able to define problems and seek out appropriate help for resolution.

  • Capable of maintaining an attendance record within Company guidelines and working required overtime.Ability to solve practical problems; ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • A working knowledge of multi-step manufacturing processes and Quality activities.

  • The ability to read and understand Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) including being proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Strong working knowledge of the terminology used within the manufacturing processes including working knowledge of the relationship between the departments and functions.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Must be able to lead and direct people.
