Responsibilities

Responsible for the shift safety, uptime, quality, waste, rate, and cost performance of the asset. Responsible for leading and directing assigned team members to perform their assigned job duties, adhere to basic expectations, and execution of JSAs, SOPS, 6S, and systems.

  1. Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.

  2. Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.

  3. Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws

  4. Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.

  5. Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc..)

  6. Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.

  7. Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.

  8. Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.

  9. Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.

  10. Understand and fully utilize all ISO procedures, control charts, histograms, CpK, and other SPC tools and measurements; recommend improvements based on statistical data and observation.

  11. Develop, implement and maintain operational procedures and controls to ensure product meets customer required and recognized quality standards.

  12. Prepare and analyze reports and make recommendations for improvements

  13. Coordinate, review and communicate customer specifications/changes.

  14. Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives for the Safety, Quality, Logistics, Process, and Operations teams.

  15. Understand and help positively communicate changes in business situations, production schedules, and company policies.

  16. Responsible for presenting asset results in meetings. This includes being able to explain what happened to drive downtime, waste, quality, rate, and other occurrences as well as how to prevent these occurrences in the future.

  17. Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork and data entry including but not limited to production and downtime reports, incident reports and the distribution of specifications.

  18. Safely operate all equipment needed to perform job

  19. Responsible for safety, product, process, and compliance audits; training of new team members; and team member certifications and re-certifications.

  20. Communicate effectively with internal customers as well as peers and to solve problems and enhance capabilities of the team

  21. Ensure required information is disseminated to the team through effective communication meetings, postings and other methods as needed.

  22. Provide the Shift Supervisor with relevant information and data for performance reviews, conflict resolution, training and development, and potential challenges or opportunities as identified.

  23. Assist operators and coordinate trouble-shooting activities. Refer to the Process Engineer for root-cause solutions to recurring problems.

  24. Train others as needed

  25. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education (Degree/Major): High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Technical degree or Associate Degree preferred

Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred

OSHA 30 hour preferred

Work Experience: 3-5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience using Personal computers with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Windows, and Word. Supervisory experience preferred
